High Power Ytterbium-Doped Fiber Lasers Employing Longitudinal Vary Core Diameter Active Fibers

Thanks to the advantage of balancing nonlinear effects and transverse mode instability, vary core diameter active fiber (VCAF) has been widely used in high power ytterbium-doped lasers recent years. Up now, VCAF developed from basic form original tapered spindle-shaped saddle-shaped with different characteristics applied conventional lasers, oscillating–amplifying integrated quasi-continuous wave successfully improved performance these lasers. In present study, a 6110 W laser amplifier is realized based on fiber. The maximum output fibers 6020 beam quality M2~1.86. this paper, we first introduce concept summarize its main fabrication methods advantages high-power applications. Then, will research results employing our group clarify outstanding compared constant (CCAF).
